Are you using Acuity Scheduling and Google Ads? You should track Google Ads conversions for Acuity Scheduling bookings. The recommended method for tracking Acuity conversions in Google Ads does not work so here is a step-by-step tutorial.

So. What’s the thing about tracking Acuity Conversions with Google Ads?
You have a website.
You use Acuity / Squarespace Scheduling.
You’re running Google Ads.
You wanna know which ads work and bring in the valuable appointments (and money).
That’s called conversion tracking. If a Google Ads campaign brings million clicks but no Acuity Scheduling bookings, its’ worthless. But a Google Ads campaign that brings in Acuity bookings is what you want.
You’re in the right place.
A little primer
Acuity Scheduling conversion tracking is hard. The worst part is that the recommended methods Squarespace tells you to do, do not work.
I repeat. The recommended built-in methods will not work.
Inside Acuity Scheduling -> integrations there’s Custom Conversion Tracking thing.
The built-in conversion tracking integration is misleading because that doesn’t track almost any conversions.
“What?”
I know. It sucks. The Acuity Scheduling custom conversion tracking does not track conversions.
“Why?”
Because your website (example.com) is a different website than the Acuity Scheduling https://app.squarespacescheduling.com/schedule.php?…
Even though Acuity widget shows on your website, it’s a different website. Acuity Scheduling is like a website inside a website. But they are different websites nevertheless. I will explain this in the video below.
❗️How to NOT track Acuity Scheduling conversions with Google Ads
I must make this clear. This method does not work for tracking Acuity Conversions with Google Ads.
That’s a bummer! That would’ve been too easy 💁♂️
How to track Acuity Scheduling bookings as Google Ads conversions?
We need to send a message from Acuity Scheduling page to your website. Then your website will know Acuity Conversion happened. Then your website can tell that to Google Ads. We can’t tell that directly from Acuity Scheduling, because then Google Ads doesn’t know about the click on the ad which lead the customer to your website.

How to do Acuity Conversion tracking when using PayPal?
After getting feedback that PayPal doesn’t work, I ran a test and indeed. If paying for the Acuity booking using PayPal, the conversion no longer happens inside your website with the Acuity Scheduling widget inside it. But we are redirected to a thank you page in Acuity Scheduling, outside your website. So any conversion tracking done in your website will not work. And because the conversion tracking MUST happen in your website because that’s the only website that knows about the Google Ads click that lead to it, things get tricky.
The solution for tracking Acuity conversion when using PayPayl
The only way is to redirect Acuity customer to a custom custom thank you page.
⚠️ ( Update - I no longer recommend redirects for conversion tracking. It’s a very problematic approach! So skip the following advice)
For this a good starting point is my Acuity Scheduling Redirector plugin, which is smart and will include the price in the redirection url. It’s then possible to track visits to this thank you page as a Google Ads conversion.
Things to consider with Acuity Scheduling PayPal conversion tracking
Make sure to only first pageview as a conversion
Make sure to hide this page from search engines and never link to it, so people do not go to it directly. They should only get to the thank you page after successful Acuity Scheduling booking to count the Google Ads conversions correctly.
