Acuity Redirector
Versions

1) Simple version

Includes redirects and works on all Acuity versions.

2) The Pro version

The pro version includes the beautifully animated loading spinner which makes the Acuity redidection experience much smoother. The pro version requires the highest Acuity ‘powerhouse’ plan.

If you have Acuity Powerhouse plan or can upgrade, I recommend the pro version for the best experience. It will definitely impress your clients for years to come.

If you don’t have the Acuity Powerhouse plan, get the cheaper Simple version.

FAQ

Can I use the Acuity redirector for conversion tracking, e.g. Google Analytics 4, Google Ads, Facebook Pixel etc?

I do not recommend it.

If you want Acuity scheduling conversion tracking, much better option is the Acuity Conversion Tracker.

If Google Ads support (or anyone else) tells you to redirect Acuity to track conversions – do not trust them. They are wrong.

Redirection to a thank you page works for conversion tracking, but it has problems.

🆘 Your analytics data will be corrupt

Redirects will result in duplicate conversions. Users accidentally refresh the thank-you page, so one booking shows as two conversions. Your data will not be accurate. This happens on mobile devices because the last page is automatically reloaded when the browser is opened again.

Acuity Conversion Tracker gets more accurate conversion data – no duplicates!

🆘 Wrong GA4 traffic source
When using a redirect, the original traffic source (instagram.com, google.com, youtube.com – the website from which the user came to your website) may be overwritten. GA4 should show google.com as the traffic source, but it may show acuityscheduling.com instead.

Acuity Conversion Tracker doesn’t overwrite your traffic sources.

🆘 Against GA4 terms and conditions
Google Ads enhanced conversions need the Acuity email address. If you use the redirect and pass email in the URL, there will be personal information in the URL which is against Google Analytics terms & conditions.

Acuity Conversion Tracker supports Google Ads Enhanced Conversions but doesn’t send personal information to Google Analytics,

There’s a much better way to track conversions
If you want to track Acuity conversions, use the Acuity Conversion Tracker instead.

Can I redirect just one appointment?

Yes.

Can I redirect all appointments?

Yes.

Can I redirect some appointments, but not all?

Yes.

Can I redirect some appointments to different thank you pages?

Yes.

Can I add the booking info, like appointment type name, date and time to the thank you page?

Yes. You the plugin can pass the appointment name, date, time etc. in the URL, and this product comes with a template you can use to show booking info on your thank you page.

Updates

15 Feb 2024

Improvements for redirecting multiple appointments with similar names. You can now use appointment type contains, instead of appointment type is.

If you have appointments like

1h Yoga Session - New York

1h Yoga Session - San Francisco

1h Yoga Session - Los Angeles

You can now redirect any appointment which name contains ‘1h Yoga Session’ and all of them are redirected with one setting.

But you can also redirect ‘1h Yoga Session - New York’ to one page and ‘1h Yoga Session - San Francisco’ to another.

Both options are easy to use.

Update 15 Jun 2023

  • Option to disable/enable Acuity booking info as URL parameters. Defaults to ‘off’. Some CMSs have problems with URL parameters, and Google Analytics may not like email addresses in the URL.

Update 31 Mar 2023

  • Huge update. Browser and Acuity are preventing redirects. The reason is to block spammy ad iFrames from redirecting people without them wanting to be redirected. To keep the plugin working I used a new better method that’s a million times more reliable. Instead of Acuity telling the browser to redirect, we send a message from Acuity to your website to redirect itself.
Much better. Reliable. Should work forever.
One extra copy-paste is needed. But worth it.

Update 20 Dec 2022

✅ Fixed a bug where the fallback redirect was missing the URL parameters (the things that allow showing booking info like email or appointment name on the thank you page)

Update 13 Dec 2022
❗Important: Acuity stopped redirection codes from working. For example this code:

<script type="text/javascript"> window.top.location = 'YOUR URL'; </script>

does not work anymore. This redirection plugin still works, as I spent ~4 hours updating it.

Update 8th Nov 2022:
Acuity seems to have a limit on how many characters can be added to integrations. 15-18 redirects is ok. If you need more than that, please get in touch for a custom solution.

Update 16th September 2022
New loading spinner! Much nicer-looking redirects.
